Provost-Chief Operating Officer/Acting President, Dr. Thomas Yoshikawa,
announces the following key administrative appointments.

Mr. Randall Foster, M.H.A., has been appointed Vice President, Office of Development,
External Affairs and Administration, effective August 16, 2005. Mr. Foster was previously Chief Executive Officer/Administrator for King-Drew Medical Center (KDMC) from 1996-2001.  During
this period, KDMC received its highest JCAHO accreditation scores, never had a CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) immediate jeopardy status, and did not have a negative article appear in the Los Angeles Times.  Mr. Foster also served as a Group Vice President at
Cedars-Sinai
Medical Center
prior to his current appointment.

Keith Norris, M.D., was appointed Vice President, Office of Research, effective August 22, 2005.
Dr. Norris was previously Associate Dean for Research in the College of Medicine.  Dr. Norris
also served as Interim Chair, Department of Internal Medicine at Drew and King-Drew Medical
Center
between 1998-1999.  Much of the success Drew has enjoyed in its expanding research enterprise is due to the hard work and tireless efforts of Dr.Norris.  Drew's NIH funding ranks 86th nationally among 123 medical schools, despite Drew being a 2-year medical school.  Through
Dr. Norris' vision and dedication, we are embarking on constructing a new research building.
